The first half of 2018 was pretty much ALL about the Wally Byam Caravan Club. Jim's second half-term as International President was from January through June. We were focused on everything we could do in support of his role leading the Club and Debbie's many responsibilities for the Club's International Rally in Salem. The annual Winter meeting occurred in Sarasota FL in January. This worked great for chasing 75 degrees AND visiting several Airstream communities. We enjoyed a late Spring caravan with the Club and had some great time in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our greatest mileage involved trips to Branson Missouri for a region rally and to Salem Oregon for the Club's International Rally in June.
Our 2018 towing mileage totalled 13,318 miles, just above our eleven-year average of 13,166. This brings our total full-timing towing miles to 152,484 miles. Our truck has over 230,000 total miles. Towing still represents two-thirds of our total truck mileage. The truck and trailer each continue to delight us with low maintenance needs and costs. Towing miles were down considerably this year because we crossed the continent only once, did a short caravan, and fewer trips overall.
Towing miles per trip and cost per night were down for the year. Overall average nights per stay bumped up to 6 (from 5), and per night site rental remains unchanged at $11. Makes budgeting pretty easy!
